Inspiration Behind the Brittany Design: This bag is a tribute to one of the many new skills that I have learned in moving to an island and working as a first mate on boats, which is tying knots! The knot on this bag is stitched because I have learned that every time I untie a knot, I can never tie it back the same way. It’s a reminder knot to get ourselves all tangled up in the things of this world that really do not matter. The Brittany bag is also named after my “Bonus Daughter” who I love very much!

Inspiration Behind the Lining: I left my hometown of nearly 50 years for the Virgin Islands on a journey to “find myself again.” People use maps to chart their course; to re-route when they get off course and to guide them along their journey to the goal of their final destination. The Caribbean has become my happy place; it is where I’ve found freedom to be “me” and chart my own course again on this journey called “life.” The Ola Kala Lining is a reminder to look within; dream big; take risks and set your course for your journey to finding serenity.
